ERYICA, the European Youth Information and Counselling Agency, is
currently recruiting a Director.
About ERYICA
The European Youth Information and Counselling Agency (ERYICA) is an
independent European organisation, composed of national youth information
co-ordination bodies and networks, as well as of local and regional youth
information and counselling services. It works to intensify European cooperation
in the field of youth information. It aims to develop, support and
promote quality generalist youth information policy and practice at all levels, in
order to meet the information needs of young people and to apply the principles
of the European Youth Information Charter.
The head office of the organisation is in Luxembourg. Currently, our team
consists of three staff members.
Acting in accordance and compliance with all applicable European and
Luxemburgish laws and regulations, the main functions and responsibilities of
the Director are

 to provide the Agency with strategic oversight, advice and guidance;
 to employ and manage the ERYICA Staff;
 to ensure success in the implementation of the Agency’s work plan;
 to raise funds for activities, and for the operational budget;
 to provide financial management of projects and operational activities;
 to design, manage and report on projects;
 to ensure visibility and sustainability of ERYICA’s activities;
 to represent the Agency, especially vis-à-vis European stakeholders
and public institutions, in accordance with the President;
 to attend to reports, articles and publications, also in cooperation with
consultants and experts;
 to strengthen and expand the membership and the network;
 to prepare the meetings of the Governing Board, and liaise with
Governing Board members between meetings;
 to prepare the annual General Assembly.
Skills and Competences
 you have a strong interest in youth policy and in the development of
youth information and counselling;
 you are a sociable person, ready to work with and for people from
very diverse social, professional and cultural backgrounds;
 you are effective, efficient, outcome-oriented, ready to work under
pressure, able to distribute your workload in order to respect
deadlines and agreed schedules and programmes;
 you are provided with strong lobbying and advocacy skills;
 you have experience in working in international networks or umbrella
organisations;
 you have experience in project management, especially in the
framework of public funding;
 you have, preferably but not necessarily, previous experience in
youth work and in youth information and counselling;
 you are ready to travel extensively and to work with flexibility also
during weekends.
Essential Qualifications
Education: University degree, or equivalent in terms of experience relevant to
the post of Director.
Language: Excellent command of English; good command of one of the official
languages of the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg (which are French, German, and
Luxemburgish); knowledge of additional languages will be considered an asset.
Management: proven ability to motivate and manage international teams,
employed staff, interns and volunteers in a cross-cultural environment; strategic
thinking; financial management; project management.
Communication: ability to create and pass messages on, orally and in written
form, using traditional means, social media and online platforms; familiarity with
speaking in public; proven record of writing in English.
You must be legally entitled to work in the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg.
You possess experience of progressive leadership and management.

Our offer
We offer an inspiring, creative working environment in an international, dynamic
framework; we offer a gross monthly salary of up to 4.500 EUR (depending on
experience and qualifications).
If selected, you will be offered a permanent work contract, drawn in accordance
and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations in force in the Grand-
Duchy of Luxembourg, where the job will be based.
Note that in Luxembourg the legal number of weekly working hours is 40;
employees benefit from 25 working days of paid leave, as well as from 10 days
of public holidays per year.

2014; interviews will take place in Luxembourg preferably on 21 November
2014.
