Projects

For EURO 2016, the city of Toulouse will host three qualification games (Monday 13th, Friday 17th and Monday 20th of June 2016) and one round of sixteen (Sunday 26th of June 2016). 350 volunteers and 25 EVS will be involved in this event.

The EVS volunteers will welcome the supporters coming from all over Europe to support their teams, and implement sportive and cultural activities and animations for them. They will work as mediators between the supporters and the organizers of the event of Toulouse City Hall, in order to help them to adjust the organization and the information to the intercultural public that they will face. They will work on the 4 football games evenings, but they will not work inside the stadiums.

A city worker will be in charge of all the volunteers, they will be constantly in relation with him, and special working times with the EVS volunteers will be organize in order to ease their integration and their work. A youth worker will also be hired specially to coordinate and tutor their work. In addition, each European volunteer will be working in pair with one of the French volunteer, they will work as a tandem but the French volunteer will also fulfill the role of a mentor for the EVS volunteer and be there to ease his integration in the local community, and assist him in his daily life.

Accommodations:

Hosting accommodations: All the EVS volunteers will be host in individual rooms in Toulouse’s Universities dormitories, with internet access.

Public transportation:

The volunteers will have a TISSEO card for the month (bus, metro and tramways).

Food :

During their working days, the lunch will be supply by Toulouse’s City Hall, and the rest of the time they’ll have access to the university canteen.

Uniform : During their working times, the volunteers will have to wear a uniform, supply by an official sponsor ( shoes, pant, short, tee-shirt, polo shirt, windbreaker jacket, jacket, cap and bag).

Volunteer’s Profile:

The Volunteers will have to have some basic knowledges of French language (A1, A2), of English language (A2, B1), be outgoing and have good communication skills.

The Volunteers will be selected on their CV and Motivation Letter; if possible a short video of presentation (1 or 2 minutes) would be an asset.

Building Bridges members and/or long term unemployed (proved by scanned document) will have preference to this volunteer service.

We will study carefully all application and selected candidates will be invite for Skype interview. The selection of volunteers will take place in the coming weeks.

For the selection of the volunteers we will need:

Europass CV with picture (made in the last month) with skype name included

Motivational letter, writing that your sending organisation will be “Building Bridges”. We ask all candidates to send a specific letter of motivation – why they want to volunteer with us rather than just a general EVS one. The volunteer is chosen according to his/her motivation and interest to the project and to the activities. It will be paid special attention to cover letters.
