Internships in Madrid
As host organisation, we are able to welcome participants to make a traineeship.
We work with over 200 companies in Madrid and Spain.
Companies select participants with the profile they need for periods from three to six months through an agreement created for this purpose.
The daily schedule of the internships will vary depending on the necessities of each company (from 30 to 40 hours per week) and it is not mandatory for them to give you any remuneration.
We also offer language courses and cultural activities as host organisation.

Internship program fee: 350 €
* Applications to start the program in May, June and July have a 50 € supplement.
This price includes:
- Enrolment fee and pre-departure assistance in arranging your application and assistance.
- Selection of the collaborating company according to your needs.
- Processing of the necessary agreements of the internship with the collaborating companies inside the legal framework in Spain.
- Assistance and support throughout your placement. YesEuropa will be the link between you and the company in order to solve doubts and problems as quickly as possible.
- Your appropriate preparation for the internship and monitoring of your progress.
- Orientation packs once you are here, including tourist and city information, transportation and communication details, etc.
- The opening introductory meeting.
- Follow-up meetings and individual discussions are held
- Individual discussions with participants for solving any problems are set up according to participants’ needs.
- The final evaluation meeting takes place at the end of the participants’ stay in Madrid.
- The fulfillment of the project’s objectives, and the participants’ professional and cultural experiences are discussed and evaluated. The participants are also given instructions for their departure the next day. YesEuropa has frequent contact with the responsible persons in all institutions, where the participants are placed. These procedures will be a great value for a correct monitoring of the beneficiaries and development of the programme.
- Certification The participants receive one certificate from our organisation and includes details about the tasks and responsibilities undertaken by the participant while on the placement.
Internships in Spain sectors
To do this internship you will need to have good maths and computer skills. You’ll need accuracy and attention to detail. You’ll also need good communication skills. Min level of Spanish required B1, and it is ideally if you have studied accounting before. Usually placements are in accountancy practices or working at companies’ financial department. As an intern you can expect to do the following tasks:
- Building and maintaining relationship with existing clients
- Submission of VAT returns
- Basic bookkeeping on EXCEL spreadsheets and SAGE, Line 50
- Basic administration of PAYE on SAGE payroll software
- Basic preparation and submission of annual accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
- Chasing of debtors
- Writing of cash book
- The various procedures with Annual returns of limited companies
- The various procedures with forming a limited company
- The various procedures in opening a limited company’s bank account
- The various procedures to follow when signing a new sole trader client

There are various advertising opportunities and your tasks will differ from role to role. However, you need to be creative and confident as it is a very competitive field. Placement can be in a media company, advertising agency or within a marketing department. You are also expected to have min level of Spanish B2 and academic background in one of the following fields: PR, Advertising, Marketing or Business studies.. The tasks that you may expect to assist doing as an internship:
- Buying advertisement space, indentifying target audience and how best to reach them, negotiating sales costs
- Presenting plans and costing to clients
- Working closely with creative teams, researchers and other members of the advertising team
- Working with a media buyer to cost and book advertising space
- Building relationships with the media
- Negotiating with clients, solving problems and making sure that deadlines are met
- Meeting clients to discuss their advertising needs
You can expect to do your internship in art gallery, dance or art school, or assist in preparing and implementing some cultural events. You are required to have a min level A2 of Spanish and interest in arts and culture. You can expect to do the following tasks:
- Assist in day to day run on the gallery
- Meeting and dealing with clients
- Promoting on social media
- Preparing marketing material, brochures, flyers
- Preparing and hosting events
- Hanging, measuring, documenting, photographing pieces of art
- Preparing press releases
- Organising displays and exhibitions
- Answering visitors’ questions in person, by email and phone
- Finding ways of attracting visitors to the gallery
- Looking after the gallery
The internship in this field will give you an understanding about everyday run of the business. During this experience you may do a variety of tasks – marketing, administration, basic accounting, sales, customer service – depending on the nature of business.
The purpose of this placement is to learn how the business is run and gain 360 degree overlook of different operations. You are required to have a min level of Spanish A2 and interest in business.
– Create fair work schedules and vacation schedules and track sick days
– Facilitate conflict resolution and deal with assisting Human Resources Department
– Taking payments, track invoices, give receipts and answer billing questions
– Marketing the business in advertising services in internet, social networks and forums
– Creating and managing spreadsheets and text documents
– Managing other technology tools including copiers, faxes and product packaging equipment
– Use multi-lines phones and e-mail to communicate with vendors and customers.

Internships can be within an Events management company, PR company or NGO and can vary from corporate, leisure events to organising conferences, networking events, presentations, seminars and summits. You are expected to be good communicator and proactive with a min level of Spanish A2 and academic background in Business related studies. Your tasks may include:
- Researching the venue
- Preparing guest lists
- Fundraising, budgeting
- Sending invitations
- Dealing with enquiries
- Hosting event, greeting participants
- Promoting, marketing and selling event
- Dealing with suppliers
- Making orders
- Preparing venue
You can expect to work with a fashion brand, designer, retailer or fashion sales online, showroom or boutique. Required level of Spanish is B1 and academic background in fashion and/or business. Depending on your skills you can expect to do the following tasks:
- Representing the company on Social media
- Manage sales and making calls to international shops, various other clients
- Designing fliers and catalogues
- Writing and circulating press releases
- Updating and maintaining website
- Managing stock control and warehouse
- Customer service
- Researching the web for suitable clothing stores, calling them, updating the information and sending them e-fliers and catalogs, calling them to bring in orders

You are required to have a min level of Spanish C1 and excellent numerical and Excel skills along with finance related degree. The role will be based with financial services company, consultancy as well as within a financial department of a particular company. You can expect some of the following tasks:
- To carry out the credit card and direct debit billing runs
- Inputting the results into the database
- Providing a full reconciliation for management
- Updating customers records with any payments/refunds/write offs
- Liaising with the client services department, working to resolve customer issues
- To provide support to the sales advisors, addressing any issues that may arise
- Order Quality control ensuring all orders have met all conditions before they can be approved
- Screening orders where necessary to ensure data integrity
- Posting purchase invoices, credit notes, and supplier payments

With an internship in media participants can be placed in television, film, video production and post-production companies, photography studios, creative agencies and even record labels. Internship tasks depend to a great extent on the specific internship placement. You can find yourself operating cameras (Production), editing film clips (Post Production), conducting interviews, and helping develop and produce new projects, planning marketing strategies, and organizing special events to promote the films, you may even be involved in translating materials like scripts (Pre-production) and work on the social media side. As with all internships you will also be involved in general day to day administration tasks. You should have at least B1 level of Spanish and come from a media related degree.
Area-specific training can be invaluable for technical roles such as production and post production so you will have specific requirements such as:
- You will have operational experience of industry standard non-linear editing (NLE) platforms, including Avid Media Composer, Adobe Premiere and Final Cut Pro 7/X
- Accustomed to editing with different formats and codecs
- Able to demonstrate a high level of skill and understanding in editing craft
- Post-production workflow and output to a range of formats and media

During an internship in public relations, you’ll be able to help a company support the goodwill and brand of a product, service or person. You’ll learn about writing press releases and how to leverage media contacts to create a distribution of information to ensure your target audience is reached effectively. But most importantly in PR internships, you’ll learn how to determine if your ideal message was properly conveyed and absorbed by your audience to shift overall perceptions. You can find yourself working for PR or Creative agency as well as within companies marketing and advertisement departments. You can expect to be involved in:
- Media outreach and pitching via phone and email
- Utilize company’s social media as an effective public relations tool
- Create press releases and distribute to different media outlets
- Track, measure, and record media hits
- Attend events or meetings with potential targets
- Write and edit unique and engaging content for company blogs, guest blogs and newsletters

Minimum B2 level of Spanish and excellent writing skills are required along with background in one of the following: PR, Marketing, Communication and/or Business.
You will find yourself interning with an estate/letting agencies or building societies. If you’re more into the financial side of things you can get involved in research to various markets and participate in property tours, in addition to receiving other forms of hands-on training. A large proportion of the work involves liaison with clients and other organisations such as mortgage companies or firms of solicitors, so good verbal communication and telephone skills are essential. Other tasks include:

You will need to have strong communication skills and minimum B1 Spanish level. You also need to be business savvy.
Similar to other business related internships, sales internships allows you to get a feel for the big world of business. The difference is that in an internship in sales, you learn specifically about marketing a product and the techniques needed to secure a sale. You will be the main link between the company and sales. You’ll also pick up new skills like managing sales cycles and pipelines in addition to lead generation through market trends. Opportunities for interns are definitely hands-on: for most companies, you will go on actual sales calls and help brainstorm and create marketing materials to support your pitch. Because you’ll be focused on selling products, you’ll learn a lot about the company itself which will help you decide what kind of company you want to eventually work for. For instance, if sales is your passion but you also love computers, you can intern at Microsoft; if you’ve always wanted to work in a creative environment, you can find your niche at a radio or television station. No matter which route you choose, when you intern in sales, you’ll be benefiting not only yourself, but others as well by driving new business. General tasks that you can expect to do:

You will need excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills as well as be business oriented. Required level of Spanish in B1 minimum.
As a student studying marketing, public relations, business, or a similar field, interning in social media is the most effective way to learn how to leverage the power of social media. Properly harnessing the power of social media requires having a unique voice within a customer or client community while offering valuable and relevant content through one, if not all, social media outlets. And social media isn’t going away, in fact, companies are searching for social media interns to keep up with competitors efforts as social media grows with new features and users every day. Who knows, maybe you’ll be a part of the next viral social media campaign promoting a customer competition or time-sensitive promotion while engaging users and influential voices within your industry. General tasks:
- Manage day-to-day communications on all social media channels – outreach via social media

You are required to be social media savvy and have B1 minimum level of Spanish.
Within the translation field there are 2 types of placements that are generally offered:
Internships in translation and interpreting: Offering a hands on approach to technical, legal, financial, medical and literary translation, using CAT Tools and learning to organize the basic terminology for each project. And project Manager Internship: which involves understanding how to manage a translation project, coordinate the linguists involved, maintain a relationship with customers and organize technical resources and necessary terminology. You can find yourself working for translation company or assisting a company with translation projects. You are required to be native speaker of the language you translate into and demonstrate either some translation experience, academic background or a desire to pursue translation as a career. Minimum level of Spanish required is C1.
reading through original material and rewriting it in the target language, ensuring that the meaning of the source text is retained;
- using Translation Memory software – such as Wordfast, memoQ, across, SDL Trados, Transit NXT and across – to ensure consistency of translation within documents and aid efficiency;
- using specialist dictionaries, thesauruses and reference books to find the closest equivalents for terminology and words used;
- using appropriate software for presentation and delivery;
- researching legal, technical and scientific phraseology to find the correct translation;
- liaising with clients to discuss any unclear points;
- proofreading and editing final translated versions;
- providing clients with a grammatically correct, well-expressed final version of the translated text, usually as a word-processed document;
Travel and Tourism internships offer firsthand experience within a travel agency or tour operator as well as some touristic attractions. There are many aspects to a travel and tourism internship, such as: operation management, event planning, marketing, and customer service. If you have ever thought of working at a hotel, resort, or conference centre, a hospitality internship is right for you.
Tasks may include:
- Confirming customer names with airlines/hotels
- Producing brochures and Internet-based information
- Handling bookings, invoicing and issuing of tickets
- Responding promptly to customer inquiries, processing all orders and requests.
- To solve technical customer issues over the phone
- Obtaining and evaluating all relevant information to handle inquiries and resolve complaints
- Managing customer accounts and maintaining accurate records of customers and any correspondence on the database.
- Market research, country analysis, management of the customer service
- Planning and setting up of new strategies to enhance the partnerships with stakeholders, agencies within the market

You are required minimum level of Spanish A2. Interest or academic background in travel and tourism is a huge plus as well as other business related skills.
Internships in the voluntary and charitable sector attract people that place values high and have interests in improving particular areas of society, without the feeling that making money is of the highest importance. Voluntary work is a good way to get experience in something you are interested in while helping others in some way. There are a wide range of placements available:

- Service delivery and evaluation
Workplaces can vary from charity to charity with some being office bound while others are on site delivering services. Depending on the role you are required to have at least A2 level of Spanish.
International trade allows us to expand our markets for both goods and services that otherwise may not have been available to us. It is the reason why you can pick between a Japanese, German or American car. As a result of international trade, the market contains greater competition and therefore more competitive prices, which brings a cheaper product home to the consumer. Depending on the company and the product/service they sell, your tasks will vary. You could do anything from Marketing, Social Media, Sales, Procurement and of course arranging shipment and logistics.
Skills required: A2 level of Spanish and academic background in Business related studies.

Possible tasks, depending on your skills and the placement:
- market analysis: evaluate and prioritize foreign markets to determine success probability for clients’ products
- marketing the product
- competitive analysis: evaluate competition by other companies and foreign manufacturers producing products similar to clients’ products
- supply chain analysis: evaluate available options for the transportation of clients’ products from their country of origin to their country of destination
- legal analysis: research required licenses, labelling, and registration requirements for the export/import of clients’ products
- social media/current events: draft and publish trade related posts on behalf of the firm
Journalists are writers that research information to be presented to the public through mediums like newspapers, internet, radio, television stations or the magazines. In many ways, journalism is the backbone of the media industry. Therefore, many media jobs require some aspect of journalistic experience. You could be involved in writing blogs for the company, writing press releases from events, doing a lot of research for journalists in the company, gathering information, updating website. You will need to have C2 level of Spanish and excellent writing skills. Possible tasks, depending on your skills and the placement:
- writing up articles and blogs in a style that will appeal to the reader
- desk based research
- answer press enquiries
- attend press and media events where necessary
- assisting with queries and escalating to wider teams if necessary

There are many solicitors specialising in different types of Law. You could be involved in Business (Corporate) Law, Civil Rights Law, Criminal Law, Family Law, and Intellectual Property Law. As an intern you might be assigned to any of those firms where your main duty will be to assist the solicitors. You are required to have a C1 level of Spanish and strong academic background in Law related subjects. Possible tasks, depending on your skills and the placement

Your placement can be based within an HR department or within recruitment consultancy who source and recruit the candidates for the companies and support them externally. You are required to have B1 level of Spanish and background in HR or Business studies.

Graphic designers/web designer’s skills are for use in media and multi-media products such as magazines, labels, APPs, advertising and signage. Typical activities include: Designing client proposals, developing concepts, graphics and layouts for product illustrations, company logos, and internet website. This sort of placement would usually be in Advertising Agencies, Multimedia companies, Brand Agencies etc. You are required to have B1 level of Spanish and technical skills, knowledge of web design tools, e.g. Dreamweaver, knowledge of HTML, PHP, programming and the ability to learn new software applications is essential. Possible tasks, depending on your skills and the placement:
- Getting creative with HTML5 and CSS3
- Crafting templates
- Creating web site designs
- Producing sample sites
- Demonstrating and receiving feedback about draft sites
- Developing skills and expertise in appropriate software/programming languages including html, Javascript and others
- Producing products that are user-friendly, effective and appealing
- Defining designs within a product used by millions
- Trying to push the limits of web technology
- Assisting in creating and developing promotion, advertising and other brand communications as directed by group creative directors
- Design digital art for layout presentation
- Liaising with clients to determine their requirements and budget
- Designing client proposals from typesetting (taking a word document, designing it in Quark etc) through to design, print and production
- Working with clients, briefing and advising them with regard to proposal style, format, print production and timescales
- Developing concepts, graphics and layouts for product illustrations, company logos, and internet website
- Determining size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy, and font style and size
- Preparing rough drafts of material based on agreed brief
- Reviewing final layouts and suggesting improvements if required
- Liaising with external printers on a regular basis to ensure deadlines are met and material is printed to the highest quality.
Internship in Information Technology may vary depending on your skills and on the company. You could be involved in Support- where you will insure the equipment runs smoothly in the office. You could also do internship in networking – connecting routers and switches. Or you could also be involved in programming. Skills required are A2 level of Spanish, Good IT knowledge and academic background in Computer Science related studies. Possible tasks, depending on your skills and the placement are:
- solve devices problems which may occur during the working-hours
- keep under control the status of computers and printing supplies, like toners and paper
- call for quotation and make orders for what concerns printing equipment and IT devices
- manage the website and make modifications in case of necessity using a CMS
- familiarise himself with all the systems and IT devices used in the offices
Requirements and application
- Be younger than 35 years old.
- Have full health insurance during your stay in Spain. We can provide you one if necessary if you are an Erasmus+ trainee.
- Provide a CV. Previous studies or work experience must be sufficiently related to the desired area of work in which the internship should take place.
- Provide a motivation letter describing the type and duration of the internship desired. It is important to be flexible, realistic and honest as this will help us to place you

The average duration of the internship grants is 3 months, however a slightly shorter or longer duration can be agreed with the company.
Internships are not normally paid, we have a small percentage of companies that do offer it, but we cannot ensure that the candidates fit the company’s requirements.
