We are a higher education institution and are applying for a European Voluntary Service for the next schoolyear. In that view and as you are a sending organization, we attach the Volunteer profile we are looking for. The dates of our project would run from September 1st, 2018 to June 30th, 2019.
We have hosted several volunteers and would like to continue this experience because it has really been very successful for our students.

Our students begin their higher studies, so they are between 18 and 22 years old. We would like to find a volunteer over the age of 22, so that he or she is elder than our students.

We are based in Rodez, which is a middle-size rural city located in the South West of France in the Occitanie region (about 200 km North-West of Toulouse) and we would like to apply for the next KA105Round (deadline : 15th February, 2018).

Our institution is not very big; it is rather a family-like one, so we can adapt our teaching to the needs of our students. One of our main goals is to make them reconsider the learning of foreign languages and open them onto the opportunities they have as students to travel abroad. So we are ready to innovate in our foreign languages teaching using the opportunity to share with a volunteer who can have an external eye.
On top of that, we want to try and open our students to their environment, both culturally and geographically.

All applications are welcome without any distinction of skills, study level or language level, experience, social origin or gender.
However, we are looking for a volunteer :
– motivated by our project
– be more than 22 years old, because of the age of the students of the Lycée
– responsive and open-minded
– speaking English and Spanish
– team-work friendly (in partnership with students, teachers and local associations)
– having good interpersonal skills and being motivated to arouse social link
– able to get used to the environment of a medium-size city located in the heart of a rural area and to appreciate its assets
The activities we offer will be done in partnership with the educational team. They are mainly aimed at our college students, but can also be aimed at people outside the institution.
They tend to achieve three main aims :
– Develop the European citizenship:
The volunteer will be invited to tell the students about his/her own mobility project and raise their awareness on European citizenship and mobility. He/She will be led to make his/her country of origin known and exchange on his/her own culture. He/She will take part to lessons, together with the teachers on given topics or topics he/she will have chosen to deal with. He/She will be associated to Europe connected events inside and outside the institution.
– Offer non-formal learning processes:
The volunteer will be suggested to prepare exhibitions, lectures, debates… linked to the curriculums and in cooperation with the educational team. He/She will also have the opportunity to suggest and lead some workshops according to his/her likings and skills. He/She will communicate on his/her projects via the school’s website and Facebook page. He/She will be led to connect with the city’s students organisations or any other organisation in order to settle down projects promoting the youngsters commitment.
– Favour the learning of foreign languages :
The volunteer will work hand in hand with the school’s teachers toward the opening of the institution to Europe in order to stimulate the students’ mobility. He/she will have to exchange with the students in his/her mother tongue or through another language they are studying. He/she will also take part to the search for foreign partners. He/She will collaborate to the running and the organisation of a “language café” inside and outside the institution. His/her suggestions will be welcome to develop an innovative foreign language teaching.

We will study carefully all application and selected candidates will be invite for Skype interview. The selection of volunteers will take place in the middle of September.
For the selection of the volunteers we will need:
– Europass CV with picture (made in the last month)
– Motivational letter, writing that your sending organisation will be “Building Bridges”. We ask all candidates to send a specific letter of motivation – why they want to volunteer with us rather than just a general EVS one.
Remember to write in the motivation letter that your sending institution is “Asociación Building Bridges”.
