Voluntarios en Alemania en un centro cultural juvenil

Location:

Schonungen is a little town, next to Schweinfurt. You can reach bigger cities like Würzburg or Bamberg with a train (around 1 hour). The volunteers from Levi e.V. and Förderzentrum will share a flat in the middle of the town.

Tasks

It is a youth house with many cultural events (concerts, theatre, vegan food, festivals) as well as regular workshops: pottering, fotogrtaphy, dance etc.

There are events and training opportunities for young people, young and adults who still feel young.

In the area of events, the volunteers act and find ideal conditions for carrying out the concerts, lectures and film evenings. In the theater area the pupils and student groups can decide by themselves which pieces they like to perform but they can receive the organizational support by the management of the house. There are three workshop-rooms: the photo processing laboratory, the video studio and pottery, which can be used during the opening times after a course or as an introductory visit seperately. In other rooms there are offers from the fields of dance, theater and sports. Since the closure of the open area, the Cairo has a total of three stages for rehearsals and performances.

 The socio-educational work in Jugendkulturhaus  belongs to the field of work of «cultural youth education». The working fields and their contents are divided into two areas, the event area (concerts, exhibitions, theater, festivals, etc.) and in the Youth Education Area (courses and workshops).
These areas of responsibility are very versatile and can be shaped by the skills and abilities of the / the volunteer with.
Add to this the parent working fields Public Relations, Social Management, teamwork, administration, team work, legal bases and cooperation with numerous social and cultural institutions.
The / volunteer is involved in all areas of work and accepts autonomously tasks in the house, accompanied by a regularly scheduled instruction.
The fields of activity are largely identical to those of young people in voluntary social year «FSJ», which are also used in our facility. In addition, we expect by the fact that the / the volunteer comes from another country, an intense cultural exchange.

Selection process

Building Bridges Association members will have preference, please enroll to the association here.

We will study carefully all application and selected candidates will be invite for Skype interview.

For the selection of the volunteers we will need:

– Europass CV with picture (made in the last month)

– Motivational letter, writing that your sending organisation will be “Building Bridges”. We ask all candidates to send a specific letter of motivation – why they want to volunteer with us rather than just a general EVS one.

Remember to write in the motivation letter that your sending institution is “Asociación Building Bridges”.
