We are a public body located in Bucharest, the capital of Romania with responsibilities in the field of social work and experience in providing social services for various disadvantaged: children, youth and elderly people.

We are looking for 6 volunteers, also youth people with few opportunities for doing socio- educational activities with children/young people (including disabilities)|:

– aged 4-18 years old – from the social protection system, owned by our institution

– aged 7-14 years old – day center for rroma children

– teenagers addicted to drugs from the social protection system

– teenagers from highschools

The social activities will include:

 Activities with teenagers from high schools based on non formal education (workshops, seminars)

 Socialization and spending leisure time with disable children

 Socialization and spending leisure, time with rroma children (origami)

 Support provided for the children in teaching a foreign language ( children hosted) within own by

our institution for opportunities in residential module by our institutions

 Activities plastic arts, dances, cultural exchange, stimulating creativity and logic thinking, stimulation of personal autonomy and self respect.

 Workshops for entrepreneurial education and financial education

 Non – formal ideas incubator

 Coaching and mentoring sessions activities strengthened

Responsabilities of volunteers

Responsible for carrying out the project duties as described in the project description: spending free time and socialization activities with children and young people within the social system, plann educational- ludic activities, promote an active citizenship activities or responsability promotion towards the environment activities, environment education activities (ecological activities and activities for a sustaible development)

Also, the volunteers will be involved in activities for behavioural training with different tools: games, chess, backgammon, puppets used in contact with social system beneficieries.

The volunteers will contribute with their time, energy and enthusiasm towards the aims and objectives of the project activities.

The volunteer has to take part also to the training courses organized by the National Agency and also by Direcţia Generală de Asistenţă Socială şi Protecţia Copilului, Sector 1.

Hand in boarding passé (if required). Inform the Sending Organisation and Host Organization of special needs that could affect the project and agree on the information which can or should be forwarded (diet, illnesses for which precautions need to be taken (e.g. epilepsy))

The volunteer will respect, read carrefully the EVS CHARTER and the internal regulation of each center and within the institution

The volunteer will agree, respect, sign the Cod of Conducte ellaborate by the team management, upon the arrival in the host country

The volunteer will announce Direcţia Generală de Asistenţă Socială şi Protecţia Sociala a Copilului, Sector 1- Host Organization and Sending Organization about any change that will affect the project implementation (delays in arrival, renounce the mobility, personnal situations)

Rights

The volunteer has the right to be respected and to be trated with dignity by the others invididuals

The volunteer has right to privacy and data protected

The volunteer has right to personal support for community integration provided for a menthor

The volunteer has right to be trained for crisis situations

The volunteer has the right to express free his opinion

Practical Arrangements

The volunteer activity will consist in 6 hours per day, 5 days per week, two consecutive days off per week and 2 days holiday per month for the duration of the project.

Food and Accommodation: The volunteer will live in an apartment ( totaly 4 volunteers 2 volunteers/ per room, kurdish and spanish), a room shared with another volunteer, with shared cooking, washing, laundry and social facilities. The flat is located in District 1, cu easy accesion to means of transportation. A monthly food allowance is provided ( 200 €).

Local Transport: A monthly local transport allowance is provided ( 15 €). Communication (5 €)

Volunteer Allowance: The volunteer will receive a monthly allowance of 60 €.

How can you know if you are the ideal candidate!

It’s very important you need to have or to be older than 20 years, to be affiliated to a sending organization, to have lot of energy, to be creative, to be patient and to have real love for children and young people with social problems, to have English knowledge, to be handy and willing to learn new things, to have a positive attitude; to have good communication skills, to be a responsible person andmotivated, to dedicate 6 hours per day in order to achieve socio-educational activities with disable children and young people.

Participants with fewer opportunities. What means few opportunities: economic obstacles, educational difficulties, geographical barriers, social barriers, young people who are coming from the geographical area disadvantage, youth from a minority.

The volunteers stage is about max. 10 months.
