Exchange summary
This project identifies a link between self-awareness and youth unemployment, in a way that if the youngsters are aware of their individual potential they will be more open and confident to create projects that will increase that potential, and consequently creating possible employment opportunities. This project has a set of two activities, an Advanced Planning Visit (APV) and a Youth Exchange (YE) which aims to support youngsters to help youth to overcome youth unemployment and the its consequences, by developing youth competences and knowledge in the areas of self-awareness, entrepreneurship, communication, etc., contributing for the creation of employment opportunities.
The APV and YE co-financed by the Erasmus+ Programme, will be in Trancozelos, Portugal, from 27-29 May 2016 and 17-24 September 2016. It will gather 12 and 36 youngsters, youth leaders and people that work with youth from Portugal, Estonia, Romania, Spain, Italy and Greece. The aim of the project is to explore and understand the role of youth work towards the consequences of youth unemployment in young people. Through non-formal education methodologies, the project will give youth the opportunity to think of innovative projects to youth work, in the area of entrepreneurship, will also provide a space for sharing good practices and resources in order to establish future cooperation for tackling youth unemployment. We also want to empower youngsters, youth leaders and people to work with tools and resources that can be used to help decrease youth unemployment. Through non-formal education methodologies, the project intends to provide the participants with tools, teach them different methods and offer opportunities to develop competences in the previously mentioned areas.”.
